In Coffee County, cargo trailers are a hot commodity. Sometimes the “hot” can be both figurative and literal. Such is the case with this story. At the end of January, Douglas police officers arrested Curtis Williams III, 29, of Tifton, after he allegedly stole two cargo trailers on the same night. Aaron Gibson, 28, of Douglas, has been arrested after he allegedly punched two family members, including his 6-year-old niece, after his aunt denied him $5 to purchase marijuana. The incident report states that around 7:04 p.m. on February 7, an officer responded to a house on South Pearl Avenue regarding an active domestic dispute. Dispatchers told the officer that a woman inside the home reported that her nephew, Gibson, hit her in the face and the 6-year-old in the head. Tyler Reid Spell, the manager of the Dollar General store in Denton, has been arrested and charged with theft by taking after allegedly stealing over $40,000 in deposits from the store. On Friday, February 10, 2023 Jeff Davis County deputies and investigators were dispatched to the Dollar General store in Denton. Officers met with a loss prevention officer who had been contacted by the cash audit department of Dollar General. The information states that from January 11, 2023-February 9, 2023, no deposits were made to the bank from the store. The missing cash deposits were estimated to be…

Toni Roxanne Davis, 45, of Douglas, has been arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine. According to a report, officers served a search warrant at the house at 637 Taylor Circle after getting reports of possible drug activity at the location. Davis was at the house at the time of the search. Officers discovered 33 grams of methamphetamine. According to Georgia law, 28 grams of methamphetamine constitutes trafficking. Davis was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and transported to the Coffee County Jail. She has not been released as of Wednesday morning.

According to an incident report, deputies responded to Lundy’s home on Tyson Road after getting a report that there were dogs in poor health on the property. When deputies arrived, they found the dogs in two tiny homemade pens. The pens were full of feces and the deputies reported that they could smell the cages from pretty far away.
