A recent traffic stop by Coffee County Sheriff’s Office authorities yielded one arrest and the discovery of over four pounds of methamphetamine. Destiny Rios, 23, of Milledgeville, who had been under investigation by the Coffee County Drug Unit, consented to a search of her vehicle during the June 5 traffic stop. Rios admitted to officials that methamphetamine was in the vehicle but claimed it did not belong to her. On May 25 at around 4 p.m, an officer stopped a vehicle on Highway 221 North in Oak Park traveling 72 mph. The speed zone through that area is 45 mph. Ahmad Rashad Cross, 37, will spend at least 180 days in the Coffee County Jail (and possibly as many as 540) after he disrupted court during a probation revocation hearing last week. The Court found that Cross did not violate his probation and he would have been released from jail had he not exhibited, as is stated in the ruling, “the most vile misbehavior the Court has witnessed in 22 years on the bench.” Cross, a convicted felon, was in jail for allegedly violating his probation by possessing a firearm.
