“This time last year, the Child Advocacy Center of Coffee County (CAC) barely had money to meet the payroll of its two employees,” said CAC President and long-time board member Tony Henderson. On June 14 and 15, the Southern Elite 11U baseball team won the 2014 USSSA South State Tournament after rallying from three losses on Saturday to run the table on Sunday for the win. “We didn’t play well our first two games on Saturday. The Douglas Stingrays swim team has been making waves this summer with impressive showings throughout the 2014 season. They will be in Waycross next Monday, June 30, as they prepare to achieve aquatic dominance at the upcoming district meet set for July 7 at the Douglas city pool.
