Gov. Nathan Deal has proclaimed the week of Nov. 10-14 as a time to recognize the contribution of school psychology in the education of Georgia’s children. In Coffee County, there are three school psychologists assigned to serve in the schools. School psychologists provide a wide variety of services, including evaluating children and assisting teachers and administrators by providing information about students’ intellectual, academic, social and emotional needs. Additional services include counseling and crisis intervention. On a Saturday afternoon that featured six players in double digits, the South Georgia State College Hawks rolled to their third straight win, defeating Summer Hill Post Graduate Academy, 127-54. The Douglas Police Department and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (Douglas) are glad to announce another offering of the women’s handgun safety course. The course will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The morning session will consist of classroom time at the Wiregrass Douglas campus and the afternoon will be spent at the range where each participant will recieve one-on-one instruction.
