The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Craig Shannon Shiver, age 54, of 439 Woodpecker Trail, Douglas, for violating the terms of his probation. Shiver, a registered sex offender, was taken into custody Tuesday without incident. Shiver was originally convicted of Sexual Misconduct in the First Degree on November 14, 2013, in Stoddard County, Missouri. He is currently registered in Georgia as a sex offender, pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 42-1-12, which mandates registration and ongoing compliance for individuals convicted of certain sexual offenses. The Kappa Sigma and Alpha Rho Omega chapters of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at South Georgia State College received multiple awards at Georgia’s Spring Regional Conference and PTK’s Catalyst Conference recently. Both chapters were awarded five-star status by using a plan which organizes requirements into five themed categories or “stars” including Reach, Engage, Network, Lead, and Discover.
