At the regular session of the Coffee County Board of Education meeting on May 11, the board recognized Dr. Morris Leis for an award he recently received from GSSA. Dr. Leis received the 2023 Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA) President’s Award. This prestigious honor is awarded to superintendents for outstanding leadership in their school system and community, and was presented to Dr. Leis at the GSSA 2023 Superintendent Conference. Commencement for Coffee High School and Wiregrass Regional College & Career Academy will take place Saturday, May 27, 8:30 AM at Dan A. Jardine Stadium. The stadium will be open for seating as of 7:00 AM. The graduates’ procession will begin at approximately 8:15 AM and the south home gate will be locked at that time. Tickets are not required for stadium entrance. However, graduates will be given 4 special rain day tickets for gym entrance in case of inclement weather. Seating for invited guests is available on both the home side and visitor sides of the stadium.…

Mr. Bookout was born July 27, 1960 to the late Marvin Vasco Bookout and Wanda Mae McRorie.
