Three people, including one defendant from Alma, have been indicted in the Southern District of Georgia on felony charges including illegal firearms possession. Trinity Strickland, a South Georgia State College (SGSC) senior, was honored with the 2023 Academic Recognition Day Award by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. Trinity is pursuing a degree in SGSC’s Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. She is involved in the Pre-Med Club, Outdoors Club, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. The City of Douglas, First National Bank of Coffee County, and other great partners will host the 2023 Freedom Fest celebration on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at JC Adams Municipal Park – Jardine Stadium (105 Bonwell Royal Rd.).
