Coffee Regional Medical Center has been awarded re-accreditation from Corazon, Inc., for Catheterization Laboratory with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) services. Corazon, Inc. is a national leader in services for the cardiovascular specialty. Roberts, Attorney at Law, LLC and also serves as a judge for the Broxton Municipal Court. Previously, he worked as an attorney for Durham, Lewis, and Roberts and as an assistant public defender for the Waycross Judicial Circuit Defender’s Office. A year-long investigation into the deceptive theft of cargo trailers came to a close by Coffee County Sheriff’s Office detectives last week. The investigation centered on a group of individuals who had been using stolen credit cards to purchase cargo trailers from Coffee County trailer dealers. Once the purchase was made, the criminals would have a transport driver pick up the trailer and, a few days later, the credit card owner would be advised of the purchase and dispute the charge. This delay would give the criminals ample time to do as they wanted with the trailers. …

There were over 420 pre-K students the first day and over 650 Kindergarten students the second day. On May 22, the City of Douglas will open Barracks #5 located at Douglas Municipal Gene Chambers Airport from 1PM-4PM to see the renovations to the facility. The building, Barracks #5, is a part of the historic World War II Army-Air Force Flight Training Air Base and was utilized as housing for the cadets that trained at the Air Base before transferring to other bases to advance their flight training. Coffee High School is excited to announce the second annual Summer Teacher Externship participants. This program allows teachers to take part in strategic externship professional development opportunities. Teachers have been paired with local community partners to learn about the skills and competencies needed to succeed in a particular industry or career path. The externship will be a week-long opportunity with hands-on learning experiences that help teachers enrich their classroom pedagogy by using real-world applications of the academic content they teach. Last year, Coffee High had four participants. This year the program has been expanded to eight. …
