Mrs. Debra Carver Meeks, age 67 of Pearson, GA passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Mrs. Meeks was born May 30, 1955 to the late Ben Carver, Jr. and Ann Walker Carver. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Dennis Michael Carver and 4 Grandchildren: Paisley Jewell, Carson Williams, Bella Perkins and Mattie Connaly. The South Georgia State College Hawks took advantage of a balanced scoring attack Wednesday night to roll to an 85-49 win over the East Georgia State Bobcats. Five players finished in double figures for the Hawks (17-4, 6-1 GCAA). Carlos Hart and Zae Wiggins led the scoring with 14 points each. Hart had six rebounds and five assists, while Wiggins had four steals. Keith Lamar and Yannis Woods both finished with 12 points. Claude Stone, Jr., age 77, of Denton, Georgia passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at his residence. Mr. Stone was born on December 9, 1945, in Denton, GA to the late Claude Stone Sr., and the late Addie Wooten Stone. Mr. Stone and his wife Connie were the entrepreneurs of Southern Vault Company for 39 years. He was also retired from the United States Army.
