The City of Douglas is among forty Georgia communities that will receive more than $35 million in federal grants to help grow their local economies. The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) announced on September 23, 2022 that Douglas has been awarded $1,000,000 in grant funds through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. On a chilly Saturday morning of September 24, the Coffee County Show Goat Association held their 2022 County Goat Show. 29 goats were shown between nine competitors which include Graci Barton, Rayley Batten, Heidi Chancey, Avelyn Dockery, Mari Fletcher, Hayden Gay, Hollyn Gay, Kyleigh Gay, and Gunner Hutto.
