Mrs. Janell Spivey Paulk, age 90 of West Green, passed away early Monday morning, August 8, 2022 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Mrs. Paulk was born April 26, 1932 to the late William Spivey and the late Gladys Harper Spivey. Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Quinton Paulk and 6 Siblings Ineva Harper, Lee Spivey, Frances Harper, Thurman Spivey, Earnestine Dupree and Carroll Spivey. The City of Douglas will hold an open house of one of the restored barracks on Friday, August 26, 2022, from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Once utilized as housing for World War II cadets, the Barracks #5 building is hoped to be used for an aviation-type business or aviation-related purposes. The open house is free of charge.
