On May 9, 2022, the Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA) announced that Dr. Morris Leis, Superintendent of Coffee County Schools, will complete a three year term on AASA’s (The National School Superintendents Association) Governing Board. In 2021, Dr. Leis was elected by the 180 member Georgia School Superintendents Association to complete a one-year term for an open seat. By Kristen Kitchens Jason Anderson, one of the men who was previously indicted on a misdemeanor charge in the 2020 homicide of Vann Brown, has now been indicted on two counts of murder, making him the third person charged in being responsible for Brown’s death. Mrs. Eva Delk Cook, age 68 of Enigma, Ga., passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 at her home following an extended illness. Born on August 24, 1953, she was the daughter of Wiley Madison and Alma Mae Murray Delk.
