Mr. Elmer William Alexander, 89 of Douglas, GA, passed away May 9, 2022 at his home with his loved ones by his side. He was born May 26, 1932 to the late Grover Cleveland Alexander and the late Christine Chisholm Alexander. Mr. Alexander served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant from 1947 – 1967. The City of Douglas Fire Department will begin testing fire hydrants on Monday, May 16, 2022, through Wednesday, May 18, 2022. Hydrant testing will start at 8:30 p.m. each night, when there is minimum traffic, and continue until 4:00 a.m. each morning.
