On Friday, December 24, 2021, the GBI’s Douglas Regional Office received a request from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office to assist with a death investigation. On Friday, December 24, 2021, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office responded to 75 2nd Ave. S. Lot 8, Douglas, Coffee County, Georgia, in reference to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies found Jeremy Gillispie, 36, and a 1-year-old baby suffering from gunshot wounds.
