The Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Drug Unit and the Hazlehurst Police Department drug investigator rounded up a half dozen individuals last week for drugs and weapons charges with two simultaneous searches and one follow up search. On Monday, November 8, 2021 at approximately 1:15 p.m. Jeff Davis Sheriffs’ Deputies and drug investigators conducted a drug investigation in the Snipesville Community. As a result, three individuals were found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine and a loaded firearm. Mr. James Henry Carver, age 68 of Douglas, passed away Wednesday morning, November 10, 2021 at Baptist Village in Waycross following an extended illness. Mr. Carver was born November 10, 1953 to the late Lebern Carver and the late Jeanette Harper Carver. The 4-H BB team, 22 rifle team, and air rifle team will hold a signup meeting on Monday, November 29 at 6 PM in the Family Ministry Center of the Douglas First Baptist Church.
