Mr. William “Woody” Strother Woods, 56, of Martin, GA passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. Mr. Woods was born in Atlanta, GA on March 4, 1965, son of John Williams Woods of Cleveland, GA and the late Elizabeth Oliver Hammond. He was a restaurant manager having worked for Sonic Drive-In and was a United States Marine veteran. Jimmy Darrell Lott, age 71, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Jeff Davis Hospital, Hazlehurst, Georgia. Mr. Lott was born on February 28, 1950 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Quincey Lott and Jackie Joiner Lott. Mr. Lott worked for Wal-Mart as a truck driver, a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War and was of the Baptist faith. Jerris Faye Mattox, 74, of Douglas, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born on March 22, 1947, Mrs. Mattox was a life-long resident of Coffee County. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Mattox, her parents, Rhozier and Iris Mills, and an infant brother, Jim Mills.
