AT&T is a longtime supporter of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and has donated $2,000 to support the college’s SkillsUSA Chapter Team. The money is used to buy supplies and other needed items, including equipment, for Skills projects. Due to the pandemic, both state and national competitions this year were held virtually; however, the competition will return to in-person next year with both competitions set to take place in Atlanta for 2022. Range Robinson won his third consecutive national weightlifting championship in Detroit, Michigan, and two other local lifters won bronze medals in the competition. On June 26-30, nine Coffee County student-athletes traveled to Detroit to compete in the USA Weightlifting National Championships. This competition is the culminating event for lifters of all ages. In order to qualify for the event, lifters must make a qualifying total in their respective age group and weight class in a sanctioned USA Weightlifting meet.
