Mrs. Nelva “Nell” Pelz Tanner, age 74 of Pearson, Ga., passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at her home following an extended illness. She was born December 20, 1946, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Vonice Courson Pelz. After graduating from Atkinson County High School in 1965, Mrs. Nell became a hairdresser and beautician who, along with her sister, went on to open and run, Nita & Nell’s Beauty Shop, in downtown Pearson for over 40 years. As a result of very modest vaccination rates and lifted restrictions, COVID infection rates and hospitalizations are rising.
