Mr. George Daniel Boatright, age 56 of Pearson, Ga., formerly of Homerville, Ga., passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at his home following a short illness. Born on July 23, 1964 to Mr. and Mrs. Wilford and Resa Lashley Boatright, Mr. Boatright worked as a truck driver until his health declined. He enjoyed working with racehorses, fishing, watching NASCAR and football, especially Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons. In unrelated incidents, Coffee County authorities made arrests last week on charges of methamphetamine possession and financial transaction fraud. The Coffee County Drug Unit, the Douglas Police Department and the Department of Community Supervision executed a search at the residence of Paul Speakman on March 3. Speakman was located inside the home, where he was found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and a firearm.
