Mr. Troy Franklin Blasingame, age 72 of Douglas, GA, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 2, 2020 at Coliseum Health System in Macon, GA following an extended illness. Mr. Blasingame was born May 3, 1948 to the late Harry E. Blasingame and the late Nora Thompson Blasingame. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Cameron Blasingame. Mr. Blasingame, a native of Coffee County, was a talented musician and he also installed floor goods. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Douglas. Paul Jimenez, age 84, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Tuesday December 1, 2020 at Dorminey Medical Center, Fitzgerald, Georgia. Mr. Jimenez was born on August 6, 1936 in Ramsey, Texas the son of the late Victor Garcia-Jimenez and Jesusa Salazar. Mr. Jimenez retired from the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War and was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. The City of Douglas was chartered on December 10, 1895. To conclude several small ceremonies, that were held in October and November, in conjunction with the 125th Celebration, the City of Douglas will have an early birthday party. In combination with the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, which is being organized by the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce, the City of Douglas will include a Community Birthday Party.
