On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, the GBI secured a felony murder arrest warrant for Savionte Torek Traylor, 18, of Douglas, in connection to the death of Ja’rique Johan Brown, that occurred on Monday, October 5. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Savionte Traylor is encouraged to contact the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office at (912) 384-4227 or the GBI Regional Office in Douglas, GA at (912) 389-4103. Ms. LaDonna Michelle Spires Odum, age 48 of Douglas, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at her residence following a short illness. Ms. Odum was born September 14, 1972 to Beverly Kay Phillips Spires and the late Donnie L. Spires. Ms. Odum, a native of Coffee County, had been employed with Coffee Regional Medical Center, Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross and Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald as a PRN. Evelyn “Mom” Weniger, age 103, of Broxton, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. Mrs. Weniger was born on January 8, 1917 in Howard, South Dakota the daughter of the late Alfred and Ingeborg Gremertson Jacobsen. Mom Weniger was a homemaker, a 25-year member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church, where she was the organist and a Sunday School teacher.
