Clyde Harper, age 84, of Broxton, Georgia passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Coffee Regional Medical Center due to COVID-19. Mr. Harper was born on August 19, 1936 in Coffee County, Georgia, the son of the late Jesse James and Sarah Hutto Harper. Mr. Harper retired from Fleetwood Homes as a project manager and was a member of Broxton Church of God where he was the clerk of the church for over 30 years. According to the NursingProcess.org site the Associate of Science in Nursing (RN) program at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College has been named the number one program in the state of Georgia. The college is ranked among other technical colleges and four-year colleges and universities. The ranking was based on the students’ National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-RN) pass rates. On September 15, 2020 at approximately 4:45 p.m., David Wayne Giddens was apprehended in Room 222 at the Fountain Inn for a probation violation. Drug Unit detectives were informed that Giddens had a fourth amendment wavier and searched his person. They located a clear plastic bag with suspected methamphetamine and a clear plastic bag with suspected marijuana. All evidence was collected and secured. Giddens was transported to the Coffee County Jail for processing. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana less than one ounce and probation violation. Becky Adams Goodman, aged 76, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020. Becky was born in May of 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida. After graduating from high school she moved to Chicago, Illinois where she worked first for Prudential Financial, and later as a flight attendant with United Airlines. After moving to Douglas, Becky worked for many years at Coffee County Bank before becoming an accountant for Fleetwood Enterprises, working at the Springhill Plant in Pearson and then at the Westfield Plant in Douglas.
