Lorine Tanner, age 59, of Nicholls, Georgia passed away on Friday July 10, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Tanner was born on April 17, 1961 in Tampa, Florida, the daughter of the late J.C. May and Mary Frances Mathis May. Mrs. Tanner worked as a sales representative with Farmer’s Furniture. The City of Douglas would like to ask visitors to City Hall to please use the “My Mobile Check In” app during business hours 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. The app is free and will allow customers to wait in their vehicles until the time to enter City Hall to conduct business. Recently the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its guidance for managing COVID-19 related issues. In response to the guidance, the University System of Georgia announced a new face mask policy on July 6 which will be in place for all USG institutions, including South Georgia State College. According to a press release issued by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, a bus was reported stolen from Jewell’s Recycling, located on First Avenue South in Oak Park.
