Carole Susan Brogdon Highsmith, age 78, of Broxton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020. Mrs. Highsmith was born on July 17, 1942 in London, England, the daughter of the late Wilson Eugene Brogdon and Dorothy Newman Brogdon. Mrs. Highsmith worked as a receptionist at Wiregrass Tech and attended Eastside Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Jerome Highsmith Sr.; son, Walter Jerome “Jerry” Highsmith Jr.; granddaughter, Savannah Sue Highsmith; brother, Kenneth Eugene Brogdon and sister, Linda Ray Brogdon. USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is aware that people across the country have received unsolicited packages of seed from China in recent days. APHIS is working closely with the Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection and State departments of agriculture to prevent the unlawful entry of prohibited seeds and protect U.S. agriculture from invasive pests and noxious weeds. Coffee County Drug Unit agents have assisted the Ware County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit detectives with a narcotics investigation that led to the arrest of Tony Ricardo Street. The information involved the illegal sales of a narcotics, specifically methamphetamine. Ware County detectives coordinated their efforts with information received from the Coffee County Drug Unit.
