Mrs. Marjorie Newbern Giddens, age 89, Pearson, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at Lakeside Senior Living in Douglas, following an extended illness. Mrs. Adams was born on October 12, 1942 in Douglas, Georgia the daughter of the late Willie Burch Sr. and the late Odessa Carter Burch. The City of Douglas and TransWaste are offering residential Junk Drop-Off Days, once a month, in 2020 to help citizens get rid of the excess trash. The upcoming dates for March will be Saturday, March 7 and 21, 2020 at the City Pole Yard located at 670 S. Pearl Avenue from 8 am-noon.
