Francisco Bustos Garcia, age 56, of Douglas, passed away on Tuesday December 31, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Garcia was born on December 3, 1963 in Mexico and was the son of Arcadio Bustos Pacheco and Antonio Garcia Ochoa. He worked as a repairman and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Douglas. The need for educated, skilled, and trained diesel maintenance technicians is increasing in South Georgia. The Coffee Campus of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Diesel Maintenance program continues to grow and currently has students participating in apprenticeships around Coffee County. Walmart Distribution Center recently reached out to Wiregrass Dean for Academic Affairs Michael Williams to see if Wiregrass had any students that could intern for their fleet maintenance department. Wanda Evans Lloyd passed away on Thursday afternoon, January 2, 2020, at Savannah Memorial Hospital. She had suffered a debilitating stroke at her home in Douglas prior to the Christmas holidays from which she never recovered.
