On September 17, 2025, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual assault. Following an immediate and thorough investigation by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, investigators determined that a sexual assault had indeed occurred. The suspect, Jose Carlos Ramirez, a resident of Coffee County, is alleged to have used a firearm to force a 17-year-old victim into a bedroom, where the alleged assault took place. Ramirez was subsequently arrested and has been charged with rape, aggravated assault, and kidnapping. All are felony charges. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
