SGSC receives funding for African-American Male Initiative program South Georgia State College (SGSC) has received a $7,000 award from the University System of Georgia (USG) to fund the 2019-2020 African-American Male Initiative program for its students. The USG AAMI’s goal is to significantly increase the graduation rates and the number of degrees conferred upon African-American males at SGSC. MC Electrical Services makes equipment donation to Wiregrass The Industrial Systems Technology programs on the Valdosta and Coffee Campuses received equipment donations from MC Electrical Services, Inc. valued around $7,500 for both campuses. The equipment generously donated was 5 Schneider Electric Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Altivar 71 units. The equipment has many uses in relation to the field of Industrial Systems. Three points. That’s how close the South Georgia State College cross country team came from winning the GCAA region championship Wednesday afternoon in Milledgeville. Three Hawks placed in the top 10 and one, sophomore Shanya Washington (Ware County), finished third overall with a 22:15 and a spot on the All Region team.
