Cloverleaf Project Achievement is a month away By Kevin Tatum, County Extension Coordinator Students in 4th-6th grades interested in participating in Cloverleaf District Project Achievement (DPA) need to get signed up for their project and started working on it as soon as possible. Cloverleaf DPA will be held in Lyons, on Saturday, November 9. Our registration deadline is October 18. Mr. Jack Edward Steptoe, age 81, of Douglas, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Steptoe was born on July 16, 1938, in Wrightsville, to the late Charlie Felton Steptoe and Lonnie Lee Tapley Steptoe. Wiregrass and Fort Valley State University sign articulation agreement In an effort to streamline educational opportunities, Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and Fort Valley State University (FVSU) have signed an articulation agreement. Wiregrass graduates who have earned an Associate of Science in General Studies can continue their education by transferring to FVSU to earn a bachelor’s degree. The agreement will allow graduates of Wiregrass’ A.S. in General Studies to transfer the entire program to Fort Valley State University. Mr. Ted Lynn Adams, age 66 of Douglas, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 1, 2019 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald following an extended illness. Mr. Adams was born December 31, 1952 to the late William Chester Adams and the late Fronna Bell Chauncey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Mason Adams. Mr. Adams, a native of Coffee County, was self-employed as a tree surgeon. He attended Covenant Christian Church. On Saturday, September 28, 2019, the South Georgia State College Lady Hawks hosted the Highlanders of Gordon State College, who are currently leading the way in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) as the first place team.
