Mildred Porter Stevens, age 76, of Douglas, passed away on Monday September 2, 2019 at Irwin County Hospital. Mrs. Stevens was born on April 8, 1943 in Douglas, the daughter of the late Joseph Charlie Porter and Rosa Lee Trowell Porter. She worked as a store manager with the Salvation Army and was a member of St. Illa Baptist Church. Ms. Lott was born February 25, 1937 to the late James D. Scott and the late Flora Wiginton Scott. Wiregrass holds ribbon cutting for mobile welding lab With the enrollment in the Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Welding program on the Coffee Campus increasing, the need for more space was answered by the Technical College System of Georgia sending a Mobile Welding Lab to the campus. The mobile welding unit is outfitted with one virtual welder, six multi-process Lincoln welders, and a flux core weld, along with six complete welding tool sets.
