Junk drop-off dates for October City of Douglas residents are encouraged to participate in junk drop off dates in 2019. The October date will be Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 and Saturday, Oct. 19 at the City Pole Yard located at 670 S. Pearl Avenue from 8:30 am-12 noon. Wiregrass and Fort Valley State University sign articulation agreement In an effort to streamline educational opportunities, Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and Fort Valley State University (FVSU) have signed an articulation agreement. Wiregrass graduates who have earned an Associate of Science in General Studies can continue their education by transferring to FVSU to earn a bachelor’s degree. The agreement will allow graduates of Wiregrass’ A.S. in General Studies to transfer the entire program to Fort Valley State University. Mr. Ted Lynn Adams, age 66 of Douglas, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 1, 2019 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald following an extended illness. Mr. Adams was born December 31, 1952 to the late William Chester Adams and the late Fronna Bell Chauncey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Mason Adams. Mr. Adams, a native of Coffee County, was self-employed as a tree surgeon. He attended Covenant Christian Church. Ameris Bank sets to break records in Fight Hunger Initiative Ameris Bank aims to donate more than two million nonperishable food items to food banks across all of their operating communities throughout the Southeast during its Helping Fight Hunger campaign this October.
