George Hester, age 96, of Douglas, passed away on Thursday June 27, 2019 at Vista Park Health and Rehabilitation. Mr. Hester was born on November 12, 1922 in Alachua, Florida, the son of the late Ezekiel Hester and Pearl Harrison Hester. Mr. Hester was a self-employed fiberglass boat builder, a local farmer, a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II where he was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
