Jessica Dawn Tanner Goodwin, age 43, of Broxton, passed away on Thursday June 20, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Tanner was born on September 7, 1975 in Coffee County, the daughter of Eloise Toliver Goodwin and the late Buford Ray Goodwin. She worked as a self-employed painter and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Goodwin. Mrs. Ruby Carolyn Allen, 78 of Waycross, passed away June 20, 2019 at her home. She was born in Whitespring, Fla., to the late Samuel Brantley and Rosey Vaughn Brantley. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents. SGSC announces Spring 2019 academic honors lists A total of 734 South Georgia State College students have earned a spot on the Spring 2019 Academic Honors List, according to an announcement today by Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Robert Page. American Legion Post 515 holds drawing, raises over $5,000 Tammy Wilkerson of Douglas won the grand prize in the American Legion Post 515’s Wreaths Across America fund-raiser last weekend. The grand prize was a large grill. Jerry Stone of Pearson won the second place prize of a Shop-Vac while Ed Chaney of Douglas received the third place prize – a coffee maker. The drawings were held at Ole Times Country Buffet.
