Rev. Jimmie Sayer, age 97, of Ambrose, passed away on Tuesday May 21, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Coffee County on May 3, 1922, the son of the late James Bynum and Annie Carver Sayer. Rev. Sayer was the oldest son of fourteen children. At a young age he learned the value of hard work and had to drop out of school to help his dad farm. In 1941, he married Dorothy Harper. Bobbie Deloyce Harper Rogers, age 72, of Wray, passed away on Monday May 20, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Rogers was born on September 22, 1946 in Ocilla, the daughter to the late Robert V. Harper and Edna Rowena Wall Harper. She worked as a secretary with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and was a member of Lax Baptist Church. Mable Fleming Corbitt, a follower of Jesus, died peacefully at the age of 98 on May 20, 2019, after a long, productive life. Mable was born November 30, 1920, in Andalusia, Ala., the seventh of nine children. She grew up in New Brockton, Ala., and finished high school in Brinson, Ga., before entering Andrew College, where she majored in Speech. After graduating, she went to Willacoochee to teach third grade in 1939. There she met Wilbur Corbitt, whose family were long-time residents of the area. Wilbur and Mable were married in 1942 in Miami, where he was working for the Army Corps of Engineers.…
