On Thursday, April 18, 2019, the City of Douglas/ESG Operations Water Department will conduct annual tank maintenance at the elevated storage tank on Bowens Mill Road SE. Maintenance is performed annually to check the structural integrity of the tank and allows maintenance crews to correct any repairs as needed. Each City of Douglas water tank undergoes this process every four years. Typically, citizens do not experience discolored water when this maintenance is done. However, there is a possibility that some customers may experience discolored water. Discolored water should be reported to the water department by calling (912) 389-3447. …

Kevin Tatum, County Extension Coordinator Georgia senior 4-H members can compete in the Dean Awards competition by submitting a cumulative portfolio of their 4-H career. The five areas of competition include: Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Citizenship, Communications and the Arts, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Leadership. Award winners become Master 4‑H’ers and receive a $500 scholarship. The portfolio entry deadline for Coffee County is Friday, May 17, by 4 PM. After completing her Early Childhood Education degree through Valdosta State University, she began working towards her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education through Albany State University. Coffee Middle School would like to recognize and commend the following 8th grade students who earned perfect attendance in the 8th Grade CMS After School Program. These students attended all 20 sessions of the program which offered support in the areas of ELA and Math. The program met on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from mid-January to the end of March.
