Coffee freshman FFA competes in the Area 6 Nursery/Landscape CDE Recently, the Coffee Freshmen FFA Chapter placed first at the Area 6 Nursery/Landscape Career Development Event (CDE). The team consisted of Hannah Austin (1st High Individual), Emilee Herrington (3rd high individual), Kaci Austin (4th high individual) and Sarah Davis (8th high individual). The team competed at the Area 6 CDE held at Brantley County Middle School on January 31 against nine other teams. Carter Young (18:03) and Kate Merritt (22:11) won Coffee Regional’s 20th annual Heart 2 Heart 5K on Feb. 23. They bested a field of 133 runners and walkers to claim first place. The 5K (3.1 mile) race was part of the 2019 Georgia Grand Prix Series. In addition to the 5K event, the race also featured a three-mile walk, and a one mile fun run. Coffee Regional Medical Center EMS was recently selected as the 2018 Georgia Emergency Medical Service of the Year by the Georgia EMS Association (GEMSA). CRMC EMS was nominated for Service of the Year along with many other rural and metropolitan services. Bobby Lonnie Mann, age 82, of Nicholls, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Mann was born on March 29, 1936, in Polk County, Florida to the late Lonnie Mann and Lovie Williams Mann.
