In an effort to motivate students to strive for academic excellence, the LIA Foundation (Love In Action), a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, held a drawing to donate a 50-inch TV, three bicycles, three PlayStation 4 gaming systems and other toys to children who showed improvement academically and/or behaviorally in class. Westside Elementary, Satilla Elementary and Coffee Middle School submitted names for the drawing. On December 19, 2018, 14 children received their “gifts of love” for the holidays.
