Dr. Brett Mizell of Southern Chiropractic of Douglas was the featured speaker at the December Power Lunch of the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Mizell shared an informative program regarding the latest technology and techniques now available in chiropractic treatment. High School students enrolled in Wiregrass Georgia Technical College’s Dual Enrollment program participated in the first Annual South Georgia & Southwest Georgia Skills Challenge. This was a skills competition that brought in 19 area schools and 150 student competitors. The event was held at the Sunbelt Expo in Moultrie with sponsors that included AGC Georgia, JCI Contractors, and Tulsa Welding School. Students competed in areas of masonry, plumbing, electrical and construction. The welding event was set up and run by Tulsa Welding School. Mr. Tidwell Carter, Sr. age 75 of Douglas, GA, passed away late Monday night, December 4, 2017, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Mr. Carter was born March 11, 1942 to the late Kermit Carter and the late Gladys Westberry Carter.
