Coffee County sheriff’s authorities are attempting to locate a juvenile who has been missing since Friday. Saphia Reed, 14, was last seen in the area of Donnie Harper Road around 7:30 p.m. on July 14. She is a black female, approximately 5’3″, 135 lbs., and was wearing dark blue jeans and a flannel shirt at the time of her disappearance. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ms. Reed is asked to contact the Coffee County E-911 Center directly or the non-emergency line at (912) 384 7675.

Coffee County detectives have arrested a 19-year-old Douglas man responsible for an Independence Day armed robbery at a local convenience store. A white male entered the Aden’s Minit Market on U.S. Hwy. 221 North around 10 p.m., July 4, brandished a firearm, and fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Coffee County authorities, along with K-9 Units from Ware State Prison and Georgia State Patrol officials, responded to the scene, but were unable to locate the offender at the time. A 24-year-old Douglas man was jailed for cocaine distribution and other multiple felonies earlier this week after authorities initially responded to a report of an altercation at a local residence. Douglas police were dispatched to a home on Dewey Ave. last Sunday, July 9, in regards to two men allegedly engaged in a physical altercation involving firearms. From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the public is invited to drop by Nicholls City Hall, 707 Van Streat Highway, to view plans and ask questions about the proposed projects.
