Mr. Thomas Lindsey Manus, age 39, of Nicholls passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon, July 9, 2017. He was born October 9, 1977 to the late Charles Ceaphus Manus and the late Nancy Manning Manus. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Ceaphus Manus. Mr. Manus, a native of Jesup, GA, was a stay at home dad. Coffee County sheriff’s authorities are attempting to locate a juvenile who has been missing since Friday. Saphia Reed, 14, was last seen in the area of Donnie Harper Road around 7:30 p.m. on July 14. She is a black female, approximately 5’3″, 135 lbs., and was wearing dark blue jeans and a flannel shirt at the time of her disappearance. Coffee County detectives have arrested a 19-year-old Douglas man responsible for an Independence Day armed robbery at a local convenience store. A white male entered the Aden’s Minit Market on U.S. Hwy. 221 North around 10 p.m., July 4, brandished a firearm, and fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Coffee County authorities, along with K-9 Units from Ware State Prison and Georgia State Patrol officials, responded to the scene, but were unable to locate the offender at the time. A 24-year-old Douglas man was jailed for cocaine distribution and other multiple felonies earlier this week after authorities initially responded to a report of an altercation at a local residence. Douglas police were dispatched to a home on Dewey Ave. last Sunday, July 9, in regards to two men allegedly engaged in a physical altercation involving firearms.
