Coffee County deputies have arrested a 24-year-old female on animal cruelty charges after she abandoned several domesticated animals in a mobile home without food nearly a month ago. Deputies responded to a residence on Sand Street and met with the complainant who stated the offender had vacated the home at the beginning of March. She added the electricity had been turned off since that time and the offender had left several animals behind, including one dog that was found dead inside the home. On April 5th, 2017, the elevated water storage tank on Bowens Mill Road Southeast will be drained for interior cleaning and inspections. During this time there is a possibility of discolored water due to changes of flow within the water system. This is caused by iron deposits inside the water mains being dislodged. Coffee County investigators have arrested a 36-year-old female after a golf cart with an estimated value of over $5,000 was taken from a residence in the Green Acres community earlier this year. Deputies responded to a home on Ramblewood Road around 7:30 a.m., January 18, in reference to a possible theft of an EZ GO golf cart. The SGSC Hawks defeated ABAC 10-0 on Friday, March 10th as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Shawn Blue earned the win for SGSC. He threw seven innings, giving up no runs, three hits, and striking out two. Relief pitchers Mason Parker and Jacob Milton helped SGSC close out the victory. On Saturday, March 18 at 1:00 a.m., Telfair County deputies responded to 39 Roberson Town Lane, Jacksonville, Ga., in reference to neighbors reporting a person suffering from burns. Upon arrival deputies located a white female with burns to her legs, abdomen, chest and head areas. An Adel man faces multiple charges after leading Coffee County deputies on a high speed chase early Saturday before crashing his vehicle in Atkinson County. A lookout was issued for 50-year-old James Fiveash around 12:30 a.m. March 18 following a domestic dispute between him and his wife that occurred in Coffee County. Fiveash’s wife stated to deputies her husband had been drinking, was unlicensed, and had abandoned her in Douglas.
