A 26-year-old Douglas woman faces domestic violence charges after allegedly beating her ex-boyfriend during a Wednesday incident before tossing a container of weed killer through a window at his home. Deputies responded to a residence off Highway 32 East around 1 p.m., May 3, in reference to a domestic dispute. The victim stated the offender, identified as Amanda Katherine Davis, entered his home and began hitting and scratching him. The awards luncheon was held at the Douglas Golf & Country Club on Saturday, April 29, 2017. This year’s award makes the 10th year anniversary supporting this great cause for Science Education. Wiregrass Georgia Technical College is hosting a fun and educational camp this summer. The Coffee Campus will be hosting a Cosmo Camp for Kids, June 6 – 8. The Cosmetology Department is hosting the camp for students in grades second to eighth. Students will perform manicures, pedicures, and more. They will get to create nail art while learning proper sanitation measures. The camp will be held on the Coffee Campus from 8:00 a.m. until noon. There were several special recognitions at the Coffee County Board of Education’s April 27th School Board Meeting. Recognitions included Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year, CTAE National Winners, 2017 Young Authors System Winners, and Mrs. Sherri Berry for 100 percent attendance at the most recent Parent Teacher Conferences.
