This day was first recognized on April 10, 2013 by the U.S. Senate by Resolution S Res 95. Each year, the Coffee County School System participates in the Young Author’s Writing Competition. Schools submit winners for each grade level, and the overall winners are chosen for the school district. This year, two of those overall winners were from Indian Creek Elementary School.
