Mr. Bobbie John Arnold, age 88, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, January 12, 2026, at this residence following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Arnold was born on January 20, 1937, in Booneville, Mississippi, to the late Lilly Bell Bullock Arnold and Bobbie Smith Arnold. He was a lifelong logger and truck driver, and he was a member of West Ward Church of God. He married the love of his life, Jean Carolyn Taft Arnold and they spent 54 years married and raising a family prior to her death in December 2011. Along with his wife and parents, Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by a son, Bruce W. Arnold, a son-in-law, Ronnie Royal, and a grandson, Brian Christopher Arnold.
Mr. Arnold was a loving father to his 5 remaining children: Felicia Royal of Lake City, Florida, Greg Arnold of Waycross, Georgia, Tim Arnold and his wife, Laurie, of Nicholls, Georgia, Gayla Arnold of Douglas, Georgia, and Allen Arnold and wife, Kelly, of Douglas, Georgia. He was a doting grandfather to his 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a sister, Ruth Grooms; and a sister-in-law, Quay Arnold; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A graveside funeral service and interment will be held for Mr. Arnold on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Satilla Memorial Garden with Rev. Floyd Musgrove officiating.
