An alleged March 9, 2026, domestic dispute on Clyde Kirkland Road ended with both parties arrested and jailed after deputies couldn’t determine who the primary aggressor was, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.
The report says that deputies responded to the home around 2:30 a.m. on March 9. The two individuals involved were Marco Pedraza, 44, of Douglas, and Perla Santana, 31, also of Douglas.
The report says the two are married and had begun arguing on the morning of March 8, 2026. The argument continued that day but stopped when they went to a friend’s house from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. that night. After they returned home, the argument resumed, according to the report. The report also says that both parties had been drinking.
In speaking with both parties, officers could not determine who the predominant aggressor was. Both had visible injuries and both claimed to be hit in the head with beer bottles. The report says there were several broken beer bottles inside the home. There were also children present during the alleged altercation.
The report states that officers finally decided to arrest both individuals. They were charged with battery – family violence and cruelty to children in the 3rd degree. They were transported to the Coffee County Jail and later released.
