A 19-year-old Douglas woman found herself in jail on burglary charges after she allegedly broke into her ex-boyfriend’s house to get some of her belongings, according to an incident report from the sheriff’s office.
The report states that on November 25, 2025, at around 3:30 a.m., a report of a burglary came in. An officer went to the scene, a mobile home park on McKinnon Road, and spoke to the complainant. He said that and his girlfriend, Zykeria Dunnom, 19, of Douglas, had just broken up and she wanted to come over to his home in order to get some of her possessions. The report states that the complainant told her not to come over, that he would bring her things to her the following morning.
However, when the complainant got home from work around 3 a.m., he saw that the door to the home had been kicked in. He also noticed that his PlayStation 5 and Firestick were missing. He also saw that Dunnom’s possessions were gone as well.
The officer went to Dunnom’s house and spoke with her. In the report, she stated that she and a cousin went to the complainant’s house to retriever her belongings and saw that the door was locked. She then stated that they were playing around by the door and her cousin pushed her into the door, knocking it open. Dunnom claimed that the PlayStation was hers and she didn’t know the Firestick was in the bag until she returned home. The report, however, states that the complainant had text messages in which Dunnom told him he could have the PlayStation.
Because of the messages and the damage to the complainant’s door, Dunnom was arrested and charged with burglary in the 1st degree. She was transported to the Coffee County Jail and later released on bond.
