The City of Douglas Code Enforcement Division reminds all businesses operating within the city limits that the deadline to renew Occupational Tax Certificates (business licenses) is quickly approaching. Business owners operating within the city should pay their occupational tax prior to March 1, 2026.
To ensure timely renewal, business owners should be prepared to:
- Verify business location, name, and mailing address
- Confirm state licenses are current (if applicable)
- Ensure no delinquent occupation taxes, property taxes, ad valorem taxes, or utility bills are owed to the City of Douglas or Coffee County Board of Commissioners.
- Ensure no outstanding debt (such as a utility bill) is owed to the City of Douglas.
For more information about business license renewal or operating a business within the City of Douglas, contact the Code Enforcement Division at (912) 389-3460 or email Code Enforcement Supervisor Mary Mireles at mmireles@cityofdouglasga.gov.
