The Douglas–Coffee County Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted a special ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:00 a.m. today at the George Washington Carver Freshman Campus, celebrating six youth-owned businesses participating in the Georgia FLEX (Foundational Leadership and Entrepreneurial X-perience) Program as they officially joined the Chamber.
The event recognized student entrepreneurs representing Sueños Creations, K.A. Creations, Triple Threat Apparel, Forever by Natalee, Flowers by Xitlali, and Buenos Diaz’s Sweets. Students prepared professional displays and showcased products for sale, highlighting the skills and dedication developed through the FLEX Program.
The ceremony included an invocation by Commissioner Edwin Taylor and special remarks from Paulette Brown, First Vice Chair of the Chamber Board; Tony Paulk, Mayor of the City of Douglas; and Keela Swinson, Assistant Principal of the George Washington Carver Freshman Campus. Speakers applauded the students’ initiative and emphasized the importance of supporting entrepreneurship at an early age.
“The FLEX Program gives students real-world experience in launching and managing businesses,” said Chamber representatives. “We are proud to support these young entrepreneurs and celebrate the bright future of local business in Douglas–Coffee County.”
