Early mornings in the barn. Late nights rinsing cattle. Countless hours spent feeding, walking, fitting, and preparing. For the Coffee County Cattle Club Show Team, show season isn’t just an event — it’s a lifestyle.
This Saturday at 11 a.m., the community is invited to witness the results of that dedication at the 2026 Coffee County Cattle Battle, held at the Billy Walker Agricultural Center on the campus of Coffee Middle School.
The 2026 show team includes: Josie Grantham, Jacob Hicks, Preston Hutto, Brett McIver, Maggie McIver, Makenzie McIver, Shana Parker, Jimmy Pridgen, and Nate Rish.
This year’s senior showmen — Josie Grantham, Preston Hutto, and Shana Parker — will take the ring for one of their final shows. Each of these seniors has poured years of effort into their cattle projects, growing not only as competitors but as leaders within the club. Their dedication to agriculture, mentorship to younger exhibitors, and commitment to excellence have helped shape the culture of the Coffee County Cattle Club.
The team is coming off a major accomplishment after recently earning the Champion Herdsman Award in Perry at the Georgia National Fair. The Herdsman Award recognizes the cleanest stalls, best-kept cattle, organized tack areas, and overall teamwork throughout the week-long state show. It is one of the most respected honors awarded at the state show and reflects the discipline and unity of the entire team and their families.
The Coffee County Cattle Battle is proudly presented by RW Griffin, with support from Backdrop Sponsor Briggs JCB Equipment and Platinum Sponsor Sapelo Equipment, along with numerous local sponsors who invest in the next generation of agricultural leaders.
Livestock showing teaches students far more than how to handle cattle. It builds responsibility, record-keeping skills, public speaking confidence, sportsmanship, and a strong work ethic. Georgia’s beef cattle industry remains one of the state’s most vital agricultural sectors, and these young exhibitors represent its future.
In addition to the cattle show, Saturday’s event will include a live auction, silent auction, and concession stand. Community members are encouraged to attend, support the exhibitors, and celebrate local agriculture.
The Coffee County Cattle Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and equipping youth involved in cattle projects throughout Coffee County.
