Ms. Cowanna Diane Music, age 58, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away Monday evening, June 1, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia, following a recent illness.
Cowanna was born September 26, 1967, in McRae, Georgia, to Mary Diane Cothern Gillis of Jacksonville, Georgia and the late Frank White, Jr. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, but especially her grandchildren. She also found great joy and satisfaction eating Moon Pies and drinking a cold Pepsi Cola. She was of the Baptist faith.
Along with her father, Cowanna was also preceded in death by her son, Brandon Lee Music.
Cowanna leaves behind her daughter, Tiffany M. Harrison and husband Michael Moore of Hazlehurst, Georgia; eight grandchildren: Kylee, Caleb, Kinlee, Kysen, Emilee, Paisley, Haven, and Michael; a sister, Sherry Day and husband, Jerome, of Broxton, Georgia; two brothers: Chris White of Douglas, Georgia, and Terry White of Jacksonville, Georgia; along with a number of extended family members.
Cowanna’s family will receive friends on Monday afternoon, June 8, 2026, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM in the Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held in her honor at 2:00 PM in the Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joey Copeland officiating. Interment will follow in the Broxton Church of God Cemetery.
